Final Day Thursday

Good evening,

Well, if that was the school year for 2013, we've gone and done it!

Thank you for all of your support for the children and myself through the year. They've been a great class.

On to today.

Not much to report really.

We sang Happy Birthday to Mr Shea, we played some Maths games...

...we had a lovely end of year Mass, tidied up, said good bye, and that was the end of that.

Have a blessed and safe Christmas and New Year, and...see you next year.

Oh, and please remember that a full run down of this year is available on line at room2ola2013.blogspot.com. (As indeed is last year's blog - room2ola2012.blogspot.com...and next year's too - room2ola2014.blogspot.com - though there's nothing there yet!)

Thank you and good night,

Mr Grant

And a good time was had by all!

Sticky Tuesday

Good afternoon,

'Twas a bit of a sticky old day at school today. Like, "what are we going to do now?" kind of sticky, due to the rain and the planned walk down to Cashmere High School for Prize Giving practice this morning. In the end, Room 2 was split 4 ways so that I could go down to help set out the chairs - while Room 12 (and a quarter of Room 2) cleaned up Room 2! Thanks Miss Fitzsimmons!

Whole school and singing practice, then Kapa Haka after morning tea, with a nice relaxing afternoon playing Robo Rally Snakes and Ladders, (well by me and a few others - Liam won the first game, Mya the second) after lunch.

And then these.

Room 7's stick figure nativity stories (one on the iPad, two live, so to speak).

Room 2 were even able to correct an historical inaccuracy in one of them!

And a good time was had by all.

This evening - please be at the Cashmere High School Auditorium...

...by ten to 6 (5:50 p.m.), either in full [summer] school uniform, or Kapa Haka uniform as appropriate. Starts at 6:30, running time aprox. an hour.

As for tomorrow, please read the notice that went out this afternoon. To most.

J Team Fun Day

16th December

This Wednesday is our J Team Fun Day. The children will be participating in a variety of activities and games.

Your child is to wear their sports uniform and bring along the following things:
  • a scooter or bike
  • a named water pistol if you have one
  • a change of clothes for changing into after water games

If it is wet we will have indoor activities planned so you will not need to send along a scooter/bike or water pistol.

Kind regards,

J Team Teachers

See you tonight, and again tomorrow, armed to the teeth. Pray for fine weather!

Robo Rally Monday

Good evening,

After a bit of fuss and bother with computer hardware I finally got a bunch of Robo Rally cards (see our Numeracy page, under resources for your own copy if you want to play at home) printed out as the morning began so that we could go outside to play Robo Rally Snakes and Ladders.

Kinda worked better when just a few of us were playing it inside.

And, as this was TRUMP time...

...some got quite creative!

And a good time was had by all.

Sticky Friday

Good evening,

And it was a rather sticky day at school today, in more ways than one - a long assembly in the afternoon heat gives rise to a rather large number of sticky individuals!

Speaking of Sticky...

Jemma found him this morning at home on their bread maker, so, she brought him to school!

He seemed to enjoy himself.

Speaking of enjoying oneself...

...I picked these up on the way home from work this afternoon!

Thanks again for your generous gifts, I've been wanting these games for ages!

Have a great weekend,

Mr Grant

Thank You Thursday

Good evening.

Thank you for your very generous gifts this afternoon, I was blown away!

Let's see...King of Tokyo, now that's a great board/dice game...so is Robo Rally, now that's a BRILLIANT game...another X-Wing, or another TIE-I, perhaps a B-Wing...so many choices!

Thanks for the spread this afternoon too, it was delicious!

And just to prove that we did actually do something...academic...today, the children did a handwriting assessment for the portfolios.

And a good time was had by all!

Thanks again,

Mr Grant
